The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has announced that in the next two rounds of independent skilled visa invitations, 1750 invitations will be sent out. This is almost double the normal number, which is 1000, and takes some of the pressure off applicants who have non-pro rata occupations (all occupations other than accounting, IT and engineering).
The new invitation number means that people with non-pro rata occupations only need 65 points to receive an invitation. We hope that the amount of invitations will be increased further and the required points will drop to 60, but at this stage we don’t know if that will happen. We’ll keep you informed as we find out more.
