The results of the 3 January SkillSelect round have been released by the government, and they show that just like the December rounds, only 300 invitations to apply for a subclass 189 visa were issued. This means that the point score cut off was 70 points. For industrial, mechanical & production engineers and auditors, company secretaries and corporate treasurers the cut off was 75 points.
It’s difficult to say whether this 300-invite trend will continue or not, but if it does then you will need 70 points minimum to be invited for a 189 visa. 60 points is the legal minimum but is no longer high enough to receive an invitation to apply.
